“I'm Carl (The Jackal) and I have only been growing a beard for just over 2 years, prior to that, during lockdown, I toyed with the idea but only really got to the stubble stage.

“My partner, Donna, loves it and really encourages me to keep it when I threaten to shave it off.

“I never realised how much attention having a beard would bring. I get more attention from men than I do women, lots of beard envy but there is a lot of love out there for the bearded man. My family hate it as, historically, I have always been clean shaven. However, all of Donna's friends and family love it and think I look strange in old photos.

“The only problem I have with my beard is eating. It drives me mad sometimes when I open wide and get a mouth full of moustache to chew on.

“I am a Tottenham Hotspur fan and have been since I was little. I have to admit that I am not a big football fanatic but I like to see Tottenham win when they play. I am a keen dart player and play at super-league standard playing 3 nights a week and if I can squeeze a game in at the weekend, I will.

“I also enjoy watching films, anything with zombies in, and I love the old 80s/90s horror genre.
Photography is another passion of mine and I love going for long walks taking pictures of the British birds (did I mention I am a Twitcher) with my dad and daughter, who has already won photography competitions at the age of 13. I was lucky enough to go to South Africa this year (2022) with my dad and got some stunning photographs.

“My partner Donna has put up with me for the past 2 years (yes I know I'm punching) and she is an absolute treasure. I have 2 daughters whom I absolutely love unconditionally, along with me extended family on Donna's side, which brings to the table 2 more daughters, a son and his better half and not forgetting a grandson. All of whom have welcomed me into their family.

“Music wise, I have a varied taste. I love the 90s club classics and 90s house music but equally I am more than happy listening to 2-tone/ska. I love Madness and Badmanners and have a very close friend who is the warm up DJ for Madness!
When I get time I love playing on my PS5. I also have my own retro arcade machine which my younger 2 girls love playing, you cant beat a bit of Pacman.
I also have a small group of mates who meet up and play board games such as, Zombiecide and Monster Slaughter.

“I love a good film and as mentioned above I love a horror or Zombie film. I also love the super-hero genre of films and I am a bit of a Marvel fan over DC but grew up with a love for Batman. I love Star Wars and all the spin offs and also love the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit films. Donna is a Vikings fan so we are currently watching this when we get the time. I think she may be modelling me on Ragnar "Lothbrok" Sigurdsson (she wishes lol).

“Both myself and Donna love a tattoo and I am currently in the process of getting a full sleeve done. She is covered and puts me to shame really so I have got some catching up to do.”
